MARIA OWEN

Maria has been given a Gift From The Gods. Her voice is one of the most powerful, resonant and unique sounds that I have ever heard. Her vocal is truly world-class.

At 16, Maria formed her first band, Chalk Circle, with Andy Morse who soon found themselves playing to a crowd of 4000+ on the Avalon Stage at Glastonbury 1997 which lead to a full UK tour gaining headline spots in London, Cork and numerous festivals. During 2000, Chalk Cirlce won an award in Guitar Magazine for Best Unsigned Acoustic Act. Gaining endorsement from Trace Elliott. Following this were invitations to support acts such as Marillion, Chuck Prophet and Jackie Leven plus a slot at the Glastonbury New Stage 2000.

The band split in 2001 to pursue individual projects before being offered a support slot with Robert Plant and still remain the closest of friends. In 2003, she worked closely with hip-hop legends, The Headcase Ladz, and later with stoner metal gods, Suns of Thunder, working with producers ex-Skindred and DubWar veterans.

This encouraged her to take a new direction with her own music and Rock became the way forward. She is due to record her debut EP with producer Jon Williams.

THE SHEERSHOCK REVIVAL

Quite simply, Sheershock are a Great British Rock'n'Roll band with the swagger of Zeppelin, the Thin Lizzy twin-lead guitars and the showmanship of The Stones.

Signed to Sonrise in 2004. First saw this band in a small club in Swansea - everything that could go wrong went wrong - where a lot of other bands would crumble - these guys got on with the job and rocked out regardless.

Musical and Cultural Influences include all the classic 70s and 80s blues, rockers and metallers.

Sonrise have licenced their 5-track mini-album which was released in 2005 and have recently financed the boys' first full studio album entitled 'Electric Vibes', which was released in 2006
